I am 5′ 8′ and with heels that usually makes me about 5’11. Thats pretty close to 6′. There was a time in my life where I thought I was of average height, but since dating, I realize I’m actually above average. Especially when it comes to the height of the men I prefer. Like most women, I want to feel petite next to man, don’t want my ass to be twice the size and sure don’t want to feel like an amazon next to him that’s for sure. There’s nothing better than a tall hunky man that holds his arms around you that makes you feel safe and protected. So typically I am attracted to a man 6′ and over. I think women that are about 5’5" have it pretty good. They can feel comfortable dating a man who is let’s say 5’9" without a problem. I did a little research, on Wiki Answers, the average height for a man in the US is 5′ 10". Which means half are taller and half are shorter.

I stayed an extra 2 hours or so when I was suppose to be at another party because I was so enjoying his company. I do see your point about wanting to feel cute & petite in comparision. Myself being a 6 feet tall woman, I’ve had that challenge all my life, so I decided to give up narrowing my options in high school, being that I towered over most of all the guys, & girls for that matter! Luckily, after college, & moving into towns with bigger pickings, I wAs lucky enuf to find my man in a 6’1″ hottie. So blown away by him that being a bit taller than him in my heels didn’t matter…. Plus height stops mattering the more horizontal you get with them, if u know what I mean! ; )

I have been happily proven wrong. The other night I went to a friends birthday party in Venice. I only knew the birthday girl. Which meant, I was walking into the party where I only knew the one person that would have time to spend 10 minutes with everyone the whole night. Thats okay. Its good for me to conquer my insecurities. As I shyly walked through the gates into the courtyard of the house, I saw my friend. As I was walking towards her I scanned the party and to my surprise saw about 10 or so tall men I was attracted to. Wow. Jackpot! I proceeded to meet her two very cool girlfriends and had quite a bit of fun with them, when three guys approached our table. They all were quite handsome, but I immediately hit it off with one of them. The chemistry between us was off the charts. Guess what…he was about 5’9". But you know, it didn’t make a difference to me, surprisingly, because his personality was so big and amazing I barely even noticed.

Spanish Over 30 Dating

I’ve dated much taller and a little shorter men. Their personalities definitely affected my perception of them. I really didn’t think about the shorter guy being short. He was a great guy. A revealing comment&The next guy who met my then ex-boyfriend asked when we were alone, “Isn’t he shorter than you?!” I guess he wouldn’t date someone taller than him. I wonder how many men really feel okay dating taller?
